Most online merchants will ask for the card's security code. The security code is the 3-digit code printed on the back of the card near the signature panel.

A. Subject to the specific terms of the transaction, both online and brick-and-mortar merchants are expected to credit returns back to your PayPal Prepaid Card account as they would any other transaction made using a MasterCard prepaid card. A. Gas stations, hotels, and car rental agencies frequently preauthorize a transaction, which means the business places a hold on your card until it knows the final amount you owe. Here are some common situations where such a hold will occur:

Funds used for the PayPal Prepaid card account are held in an FDIC-insured account with The Bancorp Bank. Funds need to be loaded onto the prepaid card to utilize the card. The PayPal Prepaid card does not pull funds directly from your PayPal account.

For current, active PayPal users, the best thing about these cards is that they link to your PayPal account. If you have a PayPal account where you regularly keep funds, they can be convenient. However, PayPal offers an option to transfer your balance into your bank account, which may be more convenient for some users than a card that pulls from your PayPal account.

Thank you for this information. I decided to go with the debit card version (not the prepaid) as I go from primary cash to using a card for online purchases. My family has always trusted PayPal and find their services fantastic.

AUSTIN, Texas -- 7-Eleven stores will now offer the PayPal Prepaid MasterCard at participating franchised and company-operated stores nationwide. Its addition is part of the retail expansion plans of NetSpend Holdings Inc., a provider of general-purpose reloadable prepaid debit cards and related financial services.

"Because of our current partnership with 7-Eleven, the convenience store company will be the first major retailer to offer the PayPal prepaid card to consumers throughout the U.S.," said NetSpend CEO Dan Henry.

The PayPal Prepaid MasterCard is available now and will be sold at approximately 5,500 upon full rollout this year. Customers can also reload cash on their PayPal prepaid cards at these 7-Eleven locations.

"We are expanding our current offering of alternative financial services because we see an increased demand for this type of product in our stores," said Jesus Delgado-Jenkins, 7-Eleven's executive vice president for merchandising, marketing and logistics. "Our customers are seeking choice and convenience when it comes to buying a prepaid card. We are selling the PayPal prepaid card because the brand already resonates with many consumers who want more financial flexibility and alternatives to traditional retail banking."

The card can be used for both online and in-store purchases wherever Debit MasterCard is accepted. It can also be used to withdraw cash from ATMs, and money can be loaded onto the card through direct deposit or at more than 130,000 reload locations in the U.S.

"We're thrilled to bring the PayPal prepaid card to a nationally recognized retailer like 7-Eleven, giving our customers more flexibility and control over their money," said Don Kingsborough, vice president and general manager of retail and prepaid at PayPal. "7-Eleven is just the beginning for the PayPal prepaid card -- we are excited to roll it out to additional brick-and-mortar retailers this year."

Go to the PayPal prepaid card page and click Order card. Enter the required information on the next page. You will need to provide a street address and an ID to get approved. Choose the personalized card design you want.

You can choose to set up the prepaid card to receive a part of your paycheck, tax refund, or other government benefits with the Direct Deposit feature. You can also link it to your PayPal balance account to make transferring funds easier. However, if you connect it to the PayPal account, you will need to undergo an additional verification process.

The debit card is completely free, with no card fees, monthly charges, or inactivity fees. The prepaid card will cost you $4.95 a month to access unlimited transactions. The cost of the card if you buy it at a store depends on the location, and there is usually a minimum amount of cash you have to load when buying the card. 041b061a72
